Hi, I'm Jen Johnson, part-time model, horticulturist and mother of a bouncing, adventurous two-year old son! My day starts at 5am and I am on the go all the time so my beauty routine has to be quick and functional. My life is active but I still watch what I eat and work out five times a week. My advice will be aimed at working mothers like myself, who often don't have time to really pamper themselves. So what I look out for in products is that they work effectively and give me a little pampering at the same time!
Probably the easiest way to have a little pamper time is when you have a bath or shower. At home we are lucky enough to have a hot tub (which gets a lot of use in the summer!) so we mainly use our walk-in shower. One brand I have found combines luxury with practicality is Molton Brown. If you have been lucky enough to stay in a five-star hotel, such as Westin, you probably already know about Molton Brown.
Originating in London, England, this brand combines natural ingredients which infuse their bath products with an amazing (and long lasting) scent. They are gentle enough for all the family, which is important to me as a mother and of course they work. As you would expect from a high quality product, a little goes a long way. In fact you really have to watch that you don't use too much especially if you use a shower sponge - no more than a quarter-sized amount is necessary as it produces a luxury abundant foam that lasts the whole shower. It makes me feel as if I am in a luxury spa, which is not surprising as Molton Brown is also a spa brand.
On the left you will see images for the very popular Yuan Zhi bath and shower which is very oriental as the name suggests. This is more a bath product for when you have time to relax. The other is Invigorating Ginseng (apparently a favorite of Tom Cruise) and this is great in the shower. It is a unisex fragrance and very refreshing. Many customers of the brand love the fragrances so much the company has made room sprays. It certainly leaves the bathroom smelling wonderful for hours!
